A Regional Seminar will be held on Friday 3 February 2012 at Auckland Central City Library. The theme of the seminar is “Library and information services for multicultural populations in Oceania and Asia: the promotion of information literacy and digital literacies for the 21st century in support of improved education outcomes”.  LEARNING FOR ALL:  PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

A conference for public librarians, local government councillors and senior staff, teacher librarians, community educators, school educators, academic educators, and others working to increase community learning and literacy collaboration, opportunities and participation − from ‘cradle to grave’.

The conference program will have four strands focused on public library best and creative practice, public library collaboration with other learning agencies and formal educational institutions, and as partners in joint use libraries. The strands are:
• Public libraries and learning – the early years
• Public libraries and learning – the school years
• Public libraries and learning – the adult years
• Public libraries and learning – the older years

Submissions for papers are due by March 23, 2010.
